Ellwood is back!
Ellwood, Walker's mascot
for over 10 years was taken January 12th, and returned anonymously two days later. He was very shaken up and traumatized by the event.

Thanks to everyone who helped look for him. We don't know who would do this, or why, but we are very glad our boy is back home.

Fred and Cyril
What's New ? Well sad to say Cyril (local Nanaimo resident), owned a dog named Fred and since Cyril passed away just over a week ago we are working on getting Fred to Quebec to be reunited with Cyril's sister, Lynda. Below is picture of happier times with Fred and Cyril. Tomorrow Fred is off to the groomer's - "Special Thanks" to Dog and Suds for donating their time and much needed services.
Click here for more on Fred's story.

Check out our latest Newsletter and see

Read about the success stories and happy endings, and all the animals that have come through our doors in 2009. Thanks to all our hard working volunteers and community partners who keep us going in our efforts to help the creatures in need who can't speak for themselves.
Happy Holidays to you and your families, and of course your pets!

Our Feral Cats Need Your Help! |
The property that many of our feral cats call home has just been sold, and we need to find somewhere to move them. If you have a property large enough to relocate these cats, please contact Stephanie right away at 250-754-7081 or walkersrescue@shaw.ca.
|
|
We also need donations of food and kitty litter so we can continue to assist these abandoned and wild cats to survive the winter. The A.R.C. is still seeking a property that we can use as a permanent shelter. If you know of any property in the central Vancouver Island area that may suit this purpose, please contact the shelter at 250-754-7081. |
At this time and all through the year we need continued financial assistance. With all the animals in our care we need regular food and supplies. You can help us - one animal at a time.
