Volunteering is a
wonderfully rewarding way to help the pets at the animal
rescue centre!
Here are a few of the ways you can make a
difference:
Centre Helper
Cats and dogs need special attention to help them overcome
sometimes very traumatic experiences, and some happy-go-lucky
pets just need that extra cuddle to make their day. There is a
lot of clean-up that has to be done, especially in the
morning. Come early and help Stephanie and Dan and then enjoy
a cuddle with your favourite pet as a reward!

Foster Parent
Do you have extra room to take in a mom with kittens, or
perhaps a cat or dog that needs that extra special tender
loving care? Fostering is very rewarding - seeing an animal
thrive under your special care and as a result find a forever
home is a wonderful way to contribute to our cause.

Fundraiser
To meet operating expenses, the centre has to run a lot of
fundraisers such as burger and beer afternoons, or evenings
with silent auctions, garage sales, dances, etc. Your ideas
and talent in organizing events are just what we need!

Please
fill out our Volunteer Application form and contact Stephanie at 250-754-7081, or walkersanimalrescue@shaw.ca if you would like to be one of our volunteer
angels - and thank you!

Jack (below), is a Jack Russell Terrier cross who had cancerous lumps on his legs that needed to be removed. With the help of many generous donors, the surgery for Jack has been successful and he is happy in his new home in Qualicum Beach. Thank you to everyone who helped out!

Another great success story for Walkers ARC! |

Stephanie Walker
Stephanie, as you may
have guessed, is the co-founder of Walker's Animal Rescue. She
and several volunteers operate a farm, as well as tirelessly
attending to over 100 cats, several dogs, llamas, goats,
sheep, rabbits, pigeons, donkeys, guinea pigs, pot-bellied
pigs and even the odd emu.

Dan Guiomar
Dan is a blessing to Walker's Animal Rescue with his carpentry skills - Dan is our handyman and has spent many hours building homes to house animals in their foster homes.
Cathy
Morton
Cathy is one of our
biggest supporters. She is also a board member of the
Vancouver Humane Society.
Rick
Smith
Rick is from As You Like It,
personal chef services (250-722-2032). He and his wife Laura
are both big supporters of the centre. Rick even made us a
kitty litter cake for our grand opening! He has a great sense
of humour and he can solve that eternal question -"What's for
dinner tonight?".

Neil
Neil is another valued member of our team. He works tirelessly wherever he is needed with clean up, animal care and errands, and we couldn't keep going without him!

Pat South
Pat is another one of our wonderful volunteers who comes out to do the invaluable and sometimes messy job of daily animal care and clean up.

Paul Pelzer
Paul is one of the legal eagles at MacIssac & Company who has given us tremendous support over the last few years. We are very grateful to Paul, John Jordan and all the staff at MacIssac & Company.

Sue Culver
Sue has recently joined the Walker team to help keep our web site up to date.
